Veterinarian - Large Animal Jobs in Hobart - October 2026 (0)

Working as a veterinary professional in Hobart & Tasmania

Tasmania's veterinary workforce is small and chronically undersupplied, which makes Hobart and Launceston some of the easiest places in Australia to secure a role quickly. Expect a spread of small-animal, mixed and wildlife-influenced practice, with employers often open to flexible arrangements for the right candidate.

Large animal veterinarian roles

Large animal vets work with cattle, sheep, pigs and other production animals, typically in regional and rural Australia. Demand consistently outstrips supply, so these roles frequently come with above-market salaries, vehicle allowances and housing. Many positions also include some small-animal work — check each listing's caseload split.
