Veterinarian - Large Animal Jobs in Brisbane - October 2026 (0)

Working as a veterinary professional in Brisbane

Brisbane offers a growing veterinary job market with a sunny lifestyle to match: suburban clinics across the northside and southside, animal hospitals, and a steady stream of locum work. The wider south-east Queensland region — Ipswich, Logan, the Moreton Bay area and the Gold and Sunshine Coasts — is within commuting reach, giving you the biggest choice of employers per commute of any Australian city.

Demand for veterinary nurses is particularly strong in Brisbane's busy multi-vet practices, while new graduates will find a good spread of mentoring-focused clinics.

Large animal veterinarian roles

Large animal vets work with cattle, sheep, pigs and other production animals, typically in regional and rural Australia. Demand consistently outstrips supply, so these roles frequently come with above-market salaries, vehicle allowances and housing. Many positions also include some small-animal work — check each listing's caseload split.
