Veterinarian - Large Animal Jobs in Cairns - October 2026 (0)

Working as a veterinary professional in Cairns

Cairns combines a tourism-driven, growing population with one of the most undersupplied veterinary workforces in Queensland. Roles in the city and across Far North Queensland frequently include relocation support, sponsorship for overseas-trained vets, and above-award packages.

Large animal veterinarian roles

Large animal vets work with cattle, sheep, pigs and other production animals, typically in regional and rural Australia. Demand consistently outstrips supply, so these roles frequently come with above-market salaries, vehicle allowances and housing. Many positions also include some small-animal work — check each listing's caseload split.
