Looking for a nursing role with plenty of variety, a supportive team, and the opportunity to put your skills to good use?

Sunbury Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our small animal practice on a permanent part-time basis.

This is a great opportunity for a nurse who enjoys being hands-on and working across a varied caseload. Our clinic sees everything from fast-paced general practice and routine preventative care through to complex surgeries and some orthopaedic procedures, giving you plenty of opportunity to use and continue developing your nursing skills.

About the role

The role offers a minimum of 32 hours per fortnight, with flexibility around how the roster is structured. Availability on Mondays and Fridays, ideally between 8:00am and 6:00pm, is preferred, along with some weekend availability.

You’ll be involved across all areas of the clinic, working closely with our vets and wider team to support a diverse and interesting small animal caseload.

Depending on your experience, your day may include:

  • Surgical and hospital nursing
  • Anaesthetic monitoring and patient recovery
  • Supporting routine and more complex surgical procedures
  • Inpatient care and treatment
  • General consulting and treatment support
  • Pathology and diagnostic procedures
  • Maintaining high standards of patient care and clinical hygiene
  • Working closely with our vets and nursing team to keep the day running smoothly
  • There is no on-call or after-hours requirement for this position.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is confident in their nursing fundamentals and enjoys being part of a busy, collaborative practice.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • Approximately 1–3 years of veterinary nursing experience
  • Confidence working within a busy small animal GP environment
  • Strong patient care and animal handling skills
  • The ability to work effectively alongside vets and fellow nurses
  • A positive, practical and team-focused approach
  • An interest in continuing to develop your nursing skills and experience
