Our well-equipped clinic sees everything from routine wellness consultations through to surgery and emergency cases. While our caseload is predominantly small animal, there's also the variety of mixed-practice work that comes with supporting the wider Waiheke community.
We're now looking for an experienced Veterinarian to join our team on a full-time basis and enjoy everything island life has to offer.
The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident Veterinarian who enjoys the variety of general practice, values clinical autonomy and is looking for a lifestyle that's a little different from the everyday. You'll enjoy a varied caseload across consultations, surgery and after-hours care, with some mixed-practice work adding to the diversity of the role.
We're looking for someone confident with sole-charge consultations and surgery, who enjoys building relationships with clients and being an important part of the local community.
What the role offers:
- Full-time position 76 hours per fortnight
- A four-day working week, plus participation in the weekend and after-hours roster
- A predominantly small animal caseload with some mixed-practice work
- A combination of consultations, surgery and emergency cases
- The opportunity to work alongside a supportive veterinary and nursing team
- Clinical variety, autonomy and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with clients

About You
We'd love to hear from you if you:
- Hold a BVSc or equivalent and are eligible for veterinary registration in New Zealand
- Have approximately 3–5 years of veterinary experience
- Are confident managing consultations and surgical cases
- Are comfortable with sole-charge consultations and responsibilities when required
- Are confident participating in an after-hours and weekend roster
- Enjoy the variety of mixed practice while working predominantly across small animal cases
- Bring a collaborative, practical and team-focused approach to your work
- Have a genuine interest in becoming part of a close-knit island community
Strong surgical capability and experience with more advanced surgical techniques would be highly regarded.
