Experienced Lead Veterinarian (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Baulkham Hills Veterinary Hospital has been caring for pets in the Hills District for more than 50 years. With a diverse companion animal caseload, six veterinarians and ten dedicated support team members, we’re looking for a Lead Veterinarian to help build our next chapter.
The Role
This is a role with room to contribute your ideas and put them into action. Whether it’s developing services, improving clinical processes or helping colleagues build confidence, you’ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Working closely with the Practice Manager, you’ll help create a collaborative team culture where people communicate openly, take ownership and keep learning.
As Lead Veterinarian, you'll:
- Deliver high-quality medical and surgical care across a varied caseload.
- Lead by example, mentoring vets and supporting their development.
- Bring fresh ideas and turn them into practical improvements.
- Strengthen clinical standards and patient outcomes.
- Explore opportunities to develop services and grow the practice.
- Partner with the Practice Manager to build a positive, accountable team.
About You
You’re an approachable, experienced veterinarian who brings people together and puts patient care first. You’re ambitious about what you and your team can achieve, and you’re not afraid of change or the conversations and follow-through needed to make it happen. You’re also comfortable questioning established ways of working, while respecting the experience around you and bringing the team along.
You'll also bring:
- Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or an equivalent degree recognised in Australia.
- Ideally 3-5 years of experience in small animal
- The ability to listen, communicate clearly and help others understand the “why”
- Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills.
- A willingness to think outside the box and embrace new ideas.
