Lead Vet Visa Sponsor

Vet Marlborough

Blenheim, New Zealand Full-Time Posted 1 day, 4 hours ago

Job Description

  • Full time: 4 days per week with weekend roster and shared after-hours roster.
  • Support with relocation and visas

Good medicine. Good people. Great place to live.

Let's be honest. Being a vet is pretty great, but it can also be demanding. The busy days, the tough cases, the emotional clients, the never-ending to-do list…

So, what if your next role came with a great team, fantastic clients, interesting medicine & surgical cases, and a little more time to enjoy life outside the clinic?

We're looking for an experienced veterinarian to lead our team in Blenheim, and we'd love to meet someone who's passionate about what they do but doesn't believe work needs to be their entire personality.

A bit about you

You've got at least five years of veterinary experience under your belt, you're comfortable managing your own cases, and you know that being a great vet is about so much more than what's written in the textbook.

You're someone who:

  • Built up experience in companion animal medicine, surgery and diagnostics
  • Enjoys good clinical medicine and takes pride in doing right by your patients.
  • Displays great surgical skills and a love of modern equipment
  • Likes working collaboratively, sharing knowledge, and bouncing ideas around with the team.
  • Is interested in clinical leadership, sharing knowledge and supporting the development of colleagues.
  • Wants to keep learning and growing and ensure the team does too!

A few essentials: You'll hold a recognised veterinary qualification and meet the applicable requirements for registration to practise in New Zealand with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand (VCNZ).

You don't need to know everything (spoiler alert: none of us do). We're looking for someone who brings experience, a good attitude, and a genuine love for the job.

What's in it for you?

A team where you can make a difference. Get to know your colleagues, build lasting client relationships, and lead a team that works together rather than just alongside each other. We're proud to be Great Place to Work® Certified and BESTPRACTICE® accredited, reflecting our commitment to our team and high standards of veterinary care.

Support when you need it. Experienced doesn't mean you have to do everything alone. We believe in asking questions, sharing ideas, and having each other's back

Professional development and recognition. Access an annual ongoing professional development allowance of $1,500, NZVA and VIN memberships, and opportunities to develop your clinical and leadership skills. Our 'You're Pawesome' Long Term Incentive also offers a 10% cash bonus paid at the end of three years

A chance to keep doing what you love. Use your experience, develop your clinical & surgical interests, and keep building on the skills you've worked hard to gain.

A life outside the clinic. Because your weekends, hobbies, family, friends, and general existence matter too. We share our afterhours with another clinic, and our weekend roster is shared by the whole team. We want work to be a rewarding part of your life, not your whole life.

Blenheim! If sunshine, vineyards, beaches, cycling, and exploring the great outdoors sound appealing, Marlborough has plenty to offer. And if you're already local, you know exactly what we're talking about!

So, why make a move?

Maybe you're ready for a change. Maybe you're looking for a great team to lead. Maybe you just want to find a clinic where you enjoy turning up to work.

Curious? Let's talk.
